Ribbon bow

Here is my last card in the set, the last three are quite similar to this one in design.
Again I started with a square card blank, I stamped the background this time, cut a decorative circle for my focal part. I cut a couple branches and a few blossoms. I stamped my greeting and bird before I glued the branches down. I added a simple bow and dazzler (I don't add ribbon very often although I have loads of it to stroke!)

A close up.

Another angle.

Let me know what you think, is this your cup of tea?

Plain and simple

Here is a plain and simple card.
A square card blank to start with, pierced around the edges.
Two die cut shapes, both embossed and placed behind the central image, a decorative circle stamped with a flower image, a simple greeting stamped and the flower image coloured using ink pads.
Cosmic shimmer pearl glue around the pattern on the circle to finish.

A close up of the flower and greeting.

Another close up.

Let me know what you think, is this too clean and simple for your taste?

Too busy or not?

Sometimes its good to try different styles and ways of doing things even if a little out of your comfort zone, and that is what I was when I made this card, out of my comfort zone, mainly because it has a lot going on and my usual style is much simpler.

As I usually do I started with a square card blank, I cut a square mat and embossed this layer, adding it with foam pads, I then cut a decorative circle and added this with foam pads, I cut a couple branches and a selection of blossom, fixing a couple with foam pads and the others with glue. I added dots of cosmic shimmer glue around the outside of the card in a random fashion to finish the edges.
Is it too busy? What do you think?

I added a simple greeting in coordinating ink to finish.

A close up of the branches, blossoms, embossing and "pearls"

Leave me a comment so I know what you think of this card design.

Naughty me...

I have been a very poor blogger, don't look how long ago it was since I last posted! I have the usual excuses, but I'm not going to bore you with those, lets get straight to a card.

This card and possibly my next couple I put on are all inspired by the wonderful Sue Wilson.

As you may have already worked out I am very partial to a square card or two, so this was my starting point, 8x8 pearl base.
Then I just had to play with my recently bought dies, I think they are called grand decorative circles, these are fab as they each have a different patterned edge.
I wanted a clean simple style (that is definitely my chosen style for card making) so I inked the edge of my circle. I cut 2 smaller dies to use as a mat, I embossed them both and have only a small portion showing from behind my circle, they look very different this way, making them more versatile, I inked these around the edges too.

The pearl swirl was made using cosmic shimmer pearl glue, quite easy to do when you get the hang of it and much cheaper than buying them ready made.
I used the same cosmic shimmer glue to add pearls around the decorative part of my circle.

I hope you like my simple card, I hope to add a few more over the next couple of days.
Thank you for looking, until next time, Happy crafting Dawn x
