3D flower instructions

Well today, Saturday I am holding a workshop to make 3D flowers using the fabulous Stampin' Up! die called Blossom Party, available until the end of April, only through your Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

First cut 4 of the largest flowers from the die using any card or designer series papers of your choice.
I have used rose red card so it shows up well in my photo's.

Then I daubed around the edge of each flower using soft suede ink.
I cut the flowers as shown in the photo (although I have them lined up in reverse order-sorry!)
I cut the first flower into the centre, between the petals, the second flower was cut into the centre and then one petal was cut out, the third flower was cut into the centre and then two petals were cut out in one piece and the final flower was cut into the centre and three petals were cut out in a single piece, I hope that makes sense.

I used the first flower and over lapped two of the petals and glued them together to form this shape, this is the base of my flower.

I then took the flower with the single petal cut out, again over lapped two of the petals and glued them together.

This is what my first two flowers look like from the underneath side. I then cut a small section off the base of my second flower, as this was a slit I then turned the flower and cut it again across the opposite direction as shown in the photo.

I continued to gluing each flower piece that I had, overlapping a whole petal until I got to the three petal flower and smaller, for these I overlapped by a little part and glued carefully along the edge. Each flower has a cut out of the centre except the first largest flower. I added shape to my petals at this stage with a bone folder, when using paper this is easier to achieve so be careful not to rip between the petals.
This is what all the parts look like at this stage.

My chosen glue for this is Tombo multipurpose glue, this is a fabulous glue that dries clear, so although it shows white in the photograph, it will dry clear. I have begun to layer my flower, starting with the largest piece as the base I glued the next largest into the centre, twisting the flower so the petals sit between the petals of the previous layer.

You continue to stick the pieces on top of each other going from largest to smallest, the double and single petals are like small tubes and I stick them in using tweezers to hold them as they are quite small. As you can see in this final photograph the glue is showing white, it does however dry completely clear and then does not show.

I hope to take some photographs of the flowers we make on Saturday and post them soon.
I hope you like my 3D flower instructions using the blossom party die, if you would like to purchase this die, please contact me for details, it will be available to order until the end of April as we are then saying goodbye to the mini catalogue where this item is from, click on the link to take a closer look.

Saturday workshop...

Here are the lovely makes from my Saturday workshop, well done ladies they look fabulous!

As you can see we made a birdie card...

We also made two tags, using the lovely two tags die...

We all had the same supplies but everyone came up with something totally unique...

Each person had half a pack of the brand new Spice cake papers...

...half a pack of the brand new spice cake designer buttons...

...a selection of die cut tags in pool party and very vanilla, a card blank and envelope, a top note die cut in soft suede, gems, ribbon and the use of a variety of punches, inks and stamps...all for £10 (what a bargain!)
and these are the fab designs they all made.
Thank you ladies for a lovely crafting time, sorry I couldn't put your name next to your design, I can't remember who made which one and I don't want to get it wrong by guessing.

Thank you for visiting, until next time Happy crafting Dawn x
