Very Vanilla

I looked at my last card and I wasn't quite as happy as I could be so I thought for a while and decided it needed to be a little warmer in colour tone so I made another one this time using very vanilla card, much better, I think, I added a fab little flower from stash to tweak it slightly.
What do you think? Which do you prefer?

         Cute flower, don't you think?

Do you like the pierced edge? I think visually it adds another layer to the card and a little texture too.

I love the hello doily stamp, I wish I had seen it before.

A few close ups today, I'm trying to remember to take more pics.

Mixed media doll stamp

I had this doll stamp for Christmas from a friend of mine and I absolutely love it, it's from prima (I know it's not stampin up!) I coloured the skin and hair with alcohol pens and paper pieced the dress, I do enjoy fussy cutting out. I cut two window dies, cutting the central cross out of the front window to make room for the greeting, I added the second to the back to add strength. The feathers are die cuts. The tiny flowers are punched with one of my tiny itty bitty punches, the white border is also a punch layered on to melon mambo card. A few gems to finish my easel card, I don't make this style very often. What do you think?

Hello, doily

I've just had a quick play this morning and this is what I came up with. I stamped hello doily and my greeting from  sincere salutations (I love this set) onto whisper white card using crumb cake on ink, I matted this onto crumb cake card. I die cut a dress form and stamped using the corner stamp from so very grateful with versamark ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I punched flowers using one of my itty bitty punches, the leaves are from the bird punch, all out of whisper white card. I pierced a decorative border onto my base card and assembled all the pieces, I added rhinestones to the centre of the flowers and the dot of the greeting. Another simple card. I have added some close up pics to show the detail. What do you think?

Look at the detail of the hello doily stamp.

The stamped flowers on the die cut don't look like a corner stamp now.

I like the look of the rhinestone as part of the greeting and that simple pierced border.

So very grateful

I love the look of this stamp, when it arrived I couldn't wait to play, here is what I made. I die cut the top shape, stamped using versamark ink and embossed with black powder. Some simple colouring and a little inking around the die and that bit was done. I embossed a mat. I pierced around the edge of my card. I punched some petite flowers and fern looking foliage to add to the corners to finish. Quite a simple card. What do you think, is this your style? Leave a comment below. All for now Dawn x

No canvas

I made this a few months a go after attending a Hels Sheridan workshop, we made something similar at the workshop but used a canvas for the base, I didn't have one and wanted to play straight away so had to improvise. The base is whisper white card, I used stampin up inks to add the colour to the base and flower die cut. I stamped the die cut flowers with a music stamp to add depth, I've put a cluster of pearls in the centre. The verse is a Tim Holtz stamp. The leaves and branch are also die cuts coloured with ink. A small piece of hessian adds texture. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. What do you think? Leave me a comment. All for now, Dawn

Regarding dahlias

Here is a very simple card I made. I stamped the flower from regarding dahlias on to melon mambo card with versamark ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I cut them out carefully by hand (I love cutting out) One of the flowers is stuck on a cube of acetate so it folds completely flat for posting. I hand drew the stems, with a swoosh of the wrist, I did that before fixing the flower heads in place. Added a greeting. This would look lovely in lots of colours, I went for melon mambo flowers. Quick and easy, what do you think?

Leaves

Here is a picture of a card I made using a stamp from my autumn splendour set, embossed in gold in a circular design, then I die cut vellum leaves and stuck in between. The letters in the centre could say anything you want, you could add a greeting, name, age etc. I die cut mine and added glossy accents over the top. I added dimensional dots of glue around the outside for texture.
A simple design, I think, what do you think?

Mirror, mirror

You don't see me for months then two posts in two days. Today I have a mirror that matches my clock from yesterday. I didn't mention the paint I used is from indigoblu, the base colour is called farmhouse teal the spots were using park lane. The doily stamp is called hello, doily from stampin up, the detail on this stamp is amazing, because I love it you will see lots more using coming in the future. Again I have heat embossed onto the wood with white embossing powder, simple and effective. What do you think? Leave a comment, let me know. All for now Dawn

MDF clock

I've been away from my blog for so long but I have been crafting and I finally decided to pop back and show you what I've been up to. I've had this clock kit for a long time, with lots of ideas, too many, I needed to wait until I could decide which to choose. Well, I love this doily stamp by stampin up called hello, doily it's so detailed even when heat embossed. Let me know what you think.
