Happy Birthday...

Today is a special friend of mines birthday and this is the card I have made for her,
anyone who knows Kelly will know that her mantra is more is more on her cards and that is why I have gone against everything I usually do to make her this card, was it possible to add anything else...? Hee Hee

I used an 8x8 inch square card base and stamped it with a rose stamp that is from a retired Stampin' Up set I can't bare to part with (a rose is a rose) using pretty in pink ink and then heat embossed with clear powder. My layer is cut from some also retired paper from my stash as is the rosette and flower (can you see a theme here? I'm loving my new found skill of paper rosettes) I added a whisper white layer so the rosette would stand out more. I cut the borders and butterfly from pretty in pink card and the flower was made using one of my new dies, spiral blossom one. Some simple layering of the many pieces and I finished with pearls around the outside edges and to accent the borders. Well it is finished, a very full card, for a very full-on person (in the nicest possible way...of course)

Happy Birthday Kel, I hope you have a special day, hugs.

What do you think...? Is this busy style what you like...? Feel free to leave me a comment.

Happy Birthday...

Today is a very special persons birthday, its my Mums birthday!
This is the card I made for her...

I used a 8x8 inch square card blank and layered basic black card, gloss white and then three panels of elegant eggplant spaced equally on top. I cut one large and three smaller butterflies from black card stock and shaped the wings before I secured them across the panels. The greeting was stamped with versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. The swirls were added using enamel accents freehand and for my first attempt I was rather pleased with how they look. I finished with gems on the bodies of each of the butterflies.

Happy birthday Mum, I hope your day is truly as special as you are! With lots of love and hugs x

I must admit to casing this card design from the incredibly talented Sue Wilson, thank you Sue I love the clean simple lines, I changed the colour to suit my recipient and didn't have any of the swirlies you use, but I love it.

What do you think...? Please leave a comment so I know you have visited.

Happy Birthday...

Well today is Lesley's birthday and this is the card I made for her...

I stamped the background with the swirl stamp from my baroque motif Stampin' Up! stamp set using perfect plum ink onto an 8x8 inch pearlescent card blank. Using two strips of perfect plum designer series papers I punched one edge with a scallop border punch, then scored between each scallop and folded concertina style and then joined the ends together, using a hot glue gun I fixed the rosette onto a circle of scrap card and then mounted this onto my stamped base card. I cut a circle of whisper white and stuck this over the centre of the rosette. I cut two butterflies using my gorgeous new nesty set, one in perfect plum and the other in vellum and layered these on top of the rosette and added plum pearls down the body and randomly around the swirls on the base and there you have it.

What do you think...? I was rather pleased with the over all effect and I'm sure I will make a similar one in the future.

Anyway, Happy Birthday Lesley I hope you had a lovely day.

Thank you for visiting, until next time happy crafting Dawn x

Happy New Year!

Happy New year!
It's getting to that time when the decorations have to come down, and well I was looking at the lovely handmade cards I was given, don't get me wrong I appreciate all the cards I was given but as someone who makes cards, I really appreciate the effort people have gone to, for me! I thought what a shame for them to be seen by only me, my family and my visitors when they deserve to be seen by the whole wide world so.....
.....here they are...

I hope you have enjoyed looking at these cards. Until next time Happy crafting Dawn x
