Thank you
Thank you ladies for a fun afternoon last Saturday. A few of us gathered and made a card at Ali's house and being Easter followed our card making with hot cross buns and home made cake, mmm yum!
Sunny April!
Would you believe it was the middle of April? My family had a day out, during the Easter break, at the wonderful fishing town Looe (I love this place!!) and we even went in the sea. We had factor 40 sunscreen and still caught the sun, it was glorious weather and the beach was busy, the sea was a lot more sparse but, my hardy bunch tested the water (my life would be tested if I put pictures of them splashing in the water on here, so I have put this rather distant one of my son on instead-some things are just not worth it)

Motorcycle 3
This is the last of my motorcycle cards for now, although I think I may be reaching for it again soon.
The base is crumb cake, stamped with a versatile speckle stamp from my bird on a branch stamp set, using chocolate chip ink. I inked around the edges of the base to add a more vintage look. The main image was stamped in black on to very vanilla, I inked around the image again with choc chip and layered on to choc chip card leaving a narrow border. I tied some twine around the image and fixed with foam to the base card. I stamped the greeting with choc chip ink. A simple classic looking card, not my usual colour palette but I like it.

Motorcycle 2
I started with a marina mist square card blank. I cut a piece of crumb cake and embossed it with the square lattice folder and inked it a little with marina mist ink, and stuck it down the right hand side. I stamped the motorcycle image on to whisper white card and coloured with promarkers, I drew the lines around the image, again with the promarker, then matted on to night of navy. I tied a small piece of marina mist ribbon onto a clip and added to the right corner of the image, I layered this on foam. The greeting is from the Something to celebrate level two hostess set, stamped in night of navy ink to finish.

Men's cards
This card uses the new motorcycle stamp which is available individually and at only £7.95 its great for all those male cards.
Basic black card base, I cut away the front, and then embossed the part I cut away with the square lattice folder and stuck it on to the inside of the card. The motorcycle was simply stamped in black and coloured with a real red marker, I added a simple greeting and layered on to red card. I tied a small piece of red ribbon to a clip, and attached to the right hand side. The panel was fixed with foam tape taking care only to put the foam where it will be in contact with the front left hand side flap. I added a very small white insert, to make it easier to write in.

Strength and Hope
Strength and Hope
This card is from the mini on page 31 with my twist to it. Stampin' Up! are donating £1 from the sale of each "Strength and Hope" stamp set sold to The Breast cancer research foundation. BCRF is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding a clinical and translational research worldwide. This stamp set is lovely and everytime you use it you know that you have supported a fantastic cause, that will help woman all over the world. Strength and Hope is available in wood £15.95 or clear £12.95
My colour combination is crumb cake and pink pirouette, as SU don't sell pink pirouette taffeta ribbon I used whisper white, taffeta ribbon, and dyed a small piece using my ink pad. The butterfly was cut using Beautiful wings embosslit die, this die cuts and embosses at the same time for a lovely effect.
I like this card so much I made it in another colour, I will post this next. Dawn x

Itty bitty bits
I took my inspiration for this card from the mini catalogue on page 21. I love the Itty bitty bits stamp set and can see me using this a lot in the future, I just need more time to play, like everyone else!
Daffodil delight was used for the card base and yeah its not square I hear you shout. The main layered shape is another exclusive die, called Top note, and this is sooo versatile, I have a fab project coming soon with this, so please come back and check. I cut two Top note shapes, one whisper white and the other rich razzleberry, I trimmed the edge from the razzleberry one so it would show the white edge, I think this is really effective. I stamped the Itty bitty images in various colours onto a decorative label punched shape and added a matching brad through the flower, this was layered with foam on to the top note shape. I cut the Hi using the new sizzlet dies "Timeless type junior alphabet dies" but added a button for the dot of the i, the button was cut using Sweet buttons embosslit die, also added with foam. A fun card. Thanks for looking, Happy crafting Dawn x

Springtime vintage 2
I love how simple this card looks!
Here I made a card base with baja breeze card, yes I know its square again! I cut a small panel from the springtime vintage papers (I think this one is my favourite from the whole pack) and layered it on to rose red card. The sentiment is from Sincere salutations set, stamped in rose red onto very vanilla card and cut out with the large oval punch and layered onto a scalloped oval cut in half length ways. The flower is cut on the big shot using the exclusive Fun flowers die, each flower was then embossed with the Square lattice embossing folder, another exclusive! (the texture of this is amazing and although the papers are gorgeous this just makes them even more wow, this is my favourite folder at the moment) The flower was then layered up and a button was added to finish with a twist of metallic thread. Simple and classy, I think.

Springtime vintage
An easy square card, using the new springtime vintage designer series papers.
I used rose red as the card base, I'm really loving this colour at the moment, then I cut a pink pirouette and very vanilla mat and embossed both of these with the perfect dots embossing folder, using the big shot machine, the card I had was slightly bigger than the folder but I found them quite easy to line up the extra part and run through again. I cut my squares using a punch and ran them all through the same embossing folder. I die cut the flowers using the lovely Fun flowers exclusive die and embossed each layer with the dots embossing folder. I shaped the flowers slightly before layering them, adding a button with elastic thread on the top. I added a small piece of ribbon before attaching the flower. A quick and effective card. I hope you like it. Happy crafting Dawn x

Happy Birthday
A belated Happy Birthday to my Dad, it was his birthday while I was poorly, and this is the card I made for him.
Build a blossom
This card uses something from my new stash out of the mini catalogue. I have used a stamp set called build a blossom, (lots of the new Stampin' Up! stamp sets are available in either wood mount as they always have been or new clear which are in fact still the same red rubber with all its quality but without the wooden block, saving space and money, the clear sets come packaged in a dvd style case and cling to an acrylic block.
I chose the largest petal, stamping in rose red onto whisper white for a dramatic look, there is also a matching large punch, to help with all the "cutting" out. The sentiment is from the new level two hostess set "something to celebrate" which I inked with a marker to add the spacing I required to fit in the large oval punched out shape, I layered this onto the new decorative label punch. The backing paper is from Springtime vintage paper pack, this pack contains some beautiful floral papers.
I hope you like it, Happy crafting Dawn x

Apologise..
Firstly I apologise for not posting for a while, the whole family were hit one after the other with a horrible violent bug, that has wiped us out for a while, we are finally recovered. So I will post some new cards, shortly.
Whilst I was gone Stampin' Up! have released their new mini catalogue and WOW, it is in my opinion the best one yet, and unfortunately I had to buy lots of new things to play with, I know its awful, isn't it? So, you will see some of these in my future projects. I think the worst thing was having a delivery of wonderful new toys and being to poorly to play, argh! Probably the biggest news is that SU have brought us the big shot machine (we have been asking/begging on your behalf, for a while now) and with it some gorgeous new dies and lots of them are exclusive to SU, so watch this space. Anyway enough of my rambling, I'm off to upload my photos and then I will be back........
