January workshop, mark 2

This is the second card we made during January, this is the soft suede/crumb cake/very vanilla option, I wanted to show how two cards with the same design can actually look so different with a couple small tweaks.

Which colour combination do you prefer?

January workshop

Here is one of the cards we made at our January workshop.
I like the clean and simple design. I enjoy fussy cutting, which is what I did here for the main flower, in three layers and three of the groups of leaves. I also made this card in other colour options, this is melon mambo, I made a rich razzleberry option and a soft suede/crumb cake and vanilla option.

What do you think? Is this your style of card? Leave me a comment. All for now, happy crafting Dawn

Petite petals and Betsy's blossom

Here I have a very clean and simple styled card. I started with a card blank and measured a mat slightly smaller, with a promarker, using the fat end I drew a border all around and doodled a black round twice for added interest.

I stamped my branch from betsys blossom twice, one either side along the central line, I then used the tiny stamp with three flowers to follow my imaginary line, filling in the gaps. I punched two bird punch branches from green card. I stamped six flowers from my petite petals stamp set and cut them out with the matching punch, adding a tiny pearl to each centre. I stamped my simple greeting on to a small piece of whisper white card, adding the same promarker and doodle border, I fixed this on with foam pads to add some depth. This card is not very dimensional so perfect if you need to post.
Until next time, happy crafting, Dawn x

Best wishes

I made this card for a friend who was recovering from an operation and decided on the greeting of best wishes rather than get well soon.

Here's a close up of the simple greeting, with the cute floral corner stamp.

I shaped the super cute petite petals for a more natural feel and added a simple pearl to the centres, I think this adds to the overall depth of the card.

My colour palette is crumb cake and very vanilla.

What do you think? Is this your style of card or not? Leave a message to let me know.
Thank you for visiting, until next time happy crafting Dawn x

Exploding box card

This is what we made at our last workshop, it was designed by my lovely crafty friend Kel. Fabulous bright colours, perfect for the summer.

A close up of the Fabulous flowers.

Kel kept the back panel fixed so you have room to write your message.

Best of all it folds completely flat and fits in an ordinary envelope, although with something this special we made our envelopes out of matching dsp.

New Home

I needed to make a card for someone special who is moving house and for something really different I went for a butterfly, symbolising flying or in my head moving away.
I started with my favourite square card base, after deciding on the size of my mat and layer I pierced around the edge. I cut a 15 cm square whisper white layer and a 15.5 cm square crumb cake mat. I stamped the small word stamp from a long retired stamp set called strength & hope, many times all over the whisper white layer in crumb cake ink, the stamp is small so this took a little while but I love the words, I also inked the edges. I cut a strip of crumb cake for the band and punched this with my scallop border punch, I added a small strip of champagne glimmer card, this stuff is so sparkly you only need a little.
I cut a pink pirouette circle and a slightly smaller whisper white circle. I stamped a butterfly from papillion potpourri onto the white circle in crumb cake ink and gentle coloured with the pink ink and a blender pen. I punched lots of branches using my bird punch and crumb cake card. I stamped flowers from my petite petals stamp set onto whisper white with pink pirouette ink, I used the flower that looks like a watercolour flower, I punched the flowers out with the coordinating punch. Then I assembled the butterfly circles, leaves and flowers, sticking them down when I was happy. To finish I added a tiny pearl to the centre of all the flowers. What do you think? I think it's feminine and pretty.
